Setting Intentions: A Guide to Manifesting Your Best Life

Setting intentions is a powerful way to align your thoughts, feelings, and actions with your deepest desires. Unlike resolutions, which often focus on rigid goals, intentions are rooted in the present moment, helping you create meaningful change by embodying the energy of what you want to attract. As Lynne McTaggart, a leading voice in intention practices, teaches, your focused intention can influence not only your life but also the world around you.

What Are Intentions?

Intentions are clear, positive declarations of what you wish to experience or bring into your life. They are not about striving or forcing but about directing your energy with clarity and purpose. Intentions act like a compass, guiding your actions and decisions while allowing space for flexibility and growth.

How to Set Intentions

Start with Clarity: Reflect on what truly matters to you. Consider areas like relationships, health, creativity, or personal growth.

Be Positive and Specific: Frame your intention in positive language. Instead of saying, “I don’t want to feel stressed,” say, “I intend to feel calm and balanced.”

Engage Your Emotions: Imagine how it will feel to live your intention. Connect deeply with the joy, peace, or excitement it will bring.

Stay Present: Phrase your intention as if it’s already happening, e.g., “I am surrounded by love and harmony.”

Focus Daily: Revisit your intention each morning or during quiet moments to reinforce your commitment.

Written Exercise to Try

Grab your journal and a pen, and try this simple intention-setting exercise:

Reflect: Spend a few moments in silence, focusing on your breath. Ask yourself, “What is one thing I deeply desire to experience right now?”

Write Your Intention: Begin with the phrase, “I intend…” and complete the sentence with your desire. For example:

“I intend to approach each day with gratitude and joy.”

“I intend to nurture my body with kindness and care.”

Visualize: Close your eyes and picture your intention as reality. What do you see, hear, and feel? Write a brief description of this visualization in your journal.

Commit: End your entry by writing, “I am open and ready to receive.”

Clarity and Focus Tea

·        1 tsp or tea bag of Green Tea

·        1 tsp. of dried lavender

·        1 tsp of peppermint leaves or a tea bag

·        1 tsp of honey

·        1-2 slices of fresh lemon

·        1 pinch of cinnamon is optional

Place green tea, lavender and peppermint in a teapot or infuser.

Pour hot, boiled water over the blend.

Let it steep for 5 minutes.

Strain and add honey and lemon slices plus a pinch of cinnamon for clarity and grounding.
